Salad Server Set Steel - Jilamara Design

These Salad Servers are part of a cross cultural project, designed in Australia and handmade in Jaipur, India.

Each piece is crafted in small batches by skilled metalworkers who specialise in traditional hand‑tooling. The stainless steel is shaped, polished and finished entirely by hand, giving the set a beautifully balanced feel and a durability made for everyday use. This collaboration supports long‑standing artisan workshops in Jaipur, where metalwork techniques have been refined and passed down through generations.

Jilamara Design - The design is owned by Josette Papajua.

During Ceremony on the Tiwi Islands a series of "Yoi", dances are performed, some are totemic (matrilineal) and others act out newly composed songs. Participants are painted with turtiyanginari (natural ochres) transforming the dancers and protecting them against mapurtiti (spirits). These designs are collectively called Jilamara.
