Coin Purse Embossed Sandhills Design

This leather purse is part of a cross‑cultural project, designed in Australia and handmade in Kashmir. Skilled artisans emboss the artwork directly into the leather, using traditional Kashmiri techniques to create depth, texture, and a beautifully tactile finish.

The images depicts the sandhills of Damien's country, Mount Liebig, towards Papunya. When you see the hills from a distance, the wind blows through the sand, making the hills move and change form. The ripples, undulations and ridges in the sand make beautiful patterns. The image is embossed to the leather by Kashmiri artisans.
