Yirrikipayi is a Tiwi term for salt-water crocodile, the largest living reptile and fiercest predator in the world. The Yirrikipayi holds great cultural significance for the Tiwi people. The detailed repetition of the triangle illustrates the pattern of the saltwater crocodiles skin, and its awe-inspiring teeth.
